Anxiety and Depression are Surprisingly Common Problems
My practice includes work with individuals, many of whom struggle with anxiety or depression. A great many people are affected by these disorders and don’t seek help to live a fulfilling life. They suffer silently and may feel that they are in a hopeless situation. There is hope! I have many years of experience helping clients with both anxiety and depression management and I would like to help you.
Depression can cause you to become isolated and caught in a cycle of being unable to do what you would like and feeling worthless and unlovable. It influences the way that you see the world and feels like you are caught in a dark, dark place. Depression can leave you feeling that there is no joy in life. It can feel like a cloud hanging over your head or like a dreadful feeling in the pit of your stomach.
There is hope for you if you struggle with depression. You do not need to remain isolated. Together we will explore what is underlying your depression. We will look at the pattern of thoughts and behaviors that have become fixed in your worldview. Replacing the automatic thinking and the negative thoughts with more positive, realistic thoughts will allow you to take control of your life. If necessary we may discuss whether or not taking anti-depressant medication is an option for you. You will learn to trust your view of yourself and how you function in the world around you with joy and hopefulness.
Anxiety can take over your life. It can become a static state that begins to feel “normal”, like you are buzzed with extra nervous energy. Anxiety can be pervasive and become present in all aspects of your life. When you feel anxious you may second-guess your decisions and act in a tentative way at work or in your relationships. Anxiety can cause a pattern of waking in the night or in the early morning with a feeling of dread and apprehension.
Developing a framework to help you understand why you react to certain situations with anxiety is important in helping you to take control of your life. As we explore the patterns that you have been acting out for many years you will begin to develop new ways to keep the behaviors in check that feed these states of mind. Becoming aware of the physiological sensations of anxiety will empower you to begin to change your thoughts before you get caught in an old behavior cycle. Using both Cognitive Behavioral and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques I can help you to live a life that is not devastated by anxiety. There can be relief from anxiety!

Finding love can be a challenging process for people in this day and age. With the seemingly infinite number of dating sites, dating Apps and programs to help you find love it can be daunting to find just the right person. Together we will explore your relationship history and the issues that may be creating roadblocks to your meeting someone. Low Self-Esteem, negative internal messages or perceptions are often at the root of what keeps people from attracting a person to develop a healthy relationship with. It is quite common to discover that there are patterns that have been unconsciously blocking you from meeting someone to share life with. With help you can enjoy the process and become truly open to a healthy relationship. You can be on the road to meeting someone to spend your life with.
